November 14 Battlefield 2, possibly one of the worst games madeSo, I've got the chance to play Battlefield 2 (BF2) on many occasions through the couple years I've had it. It started out to be a really good game. But like any EA game, they always fuck it up in some way because they are incompetent assholes who can't release a decent quality game from launch. So, I've been playing recently and I just find out so many things wrong with it. No 64-bit support, or even widescreen resolutions Flying? Sniping? nope. I mean, for crying out loud EA, the game has gotten worse since it's launched, how in the world did you fuck up that bad? You must be some geniuses to actually make backward progress on a game. Wow, I have to give you my hand, cause that is just amazing in itself. Please, quit while you are behind. Stop making games, and PLEASE stop buying out companies that make decent games only to make them stop pulling out crappy ones. Jim JeffriesA couple of friends of mine and me went to Stanford and Son's Comedy Club in the Legends at Kansas City last night. There was the usual 2 comedians, if you can call them that, who started the night and then one who, might I say lasted way to long with boring crude jokes, introduced the main headliner of the night, Jim Jeffries. Jim is from Australia but currently lives in Britain. He has the Australian accent too, but I think he's picking up some Britain terms. But anyway, he was pretty funny. He started off okay, but the night really started when a guy in the 'VIP' seating started to get angry after one of his one liners about Barak Obama. I think it went like this, "... my friend will get put into jail by Barak Obama, right before he gets assassinated." Everyone else got the point it was a joke, but this gentleman in the front row had a chip on his shoulders, crossed his arms and just starred him down. Eventually, Jim thought this got a little awkward and asked him why he was doing this. He didn't reply. So naturally, Jim started cracking on him. That's when everyone joined up on Jim's side and all started laughing at this guy. He started by recalling some phrases from the show "The A-Team" because apparently this guy looked like Mr. T, but I couldn't see his face that well. From there, with the man not letting up, and almost about to throw his drink, Jim started making references to him being gay and his "mum and dad". It's one of those nights where you just had to be there in order to laugh at it. If you are in Kansas City, Jim Jeffries will be at Stanford's all weekend through Sunday. Check him out! November 05 Superclocked nVidia 8800 GTLast week I had a little bit of an eBay buying spree. I bought about 10 items for my car which all ended up being under $50, which I was pretty proud of. Then I bought myself a eVGA nVidia 8800 GT Superclocked edition for $80. When I got it in today, it looked brand new! My computer had a little trouble starting and bluescreened on the first startup. Since then everything has gone pretty smooth. So, how good does it work? I launched Day of Defeat: Source. On my last graphics card, a 6800 GT, the shader models were apparently too old to handle the new Half-Life 2 engine. So, everytime I would use the sniper rifle and scope in on smoke, it would pretty much go to 1 FPS. Now, I zoom in and it doesn't affect performance AT ALL! That's all I needed, and now I can run games for another 3 years to come hopefully. Great card, would recommend to others. August 25 Moved In!I moved into my new dorm at Kansas State University last Friday. Everything is going well and it's a whole new experience for me. Friday, there wasn't too many people here, but overnight, the town, I swear, grew by about 40,000 or more people. It went from the streets being pretty empty to hardly being able to walk across them. I love it though, especially the part about being on my own. My dorm is pretty nice. I am rooming with Jake, a friend of mine. We get along pretty good and we both like to play games and have a good time; so I don't see us getting pissed off at each other any time soon. Now, my classes, that's another thing. I'm not sure if they are going to be easy or hard, or right in the sweet spot. Hopefully they give me a challenge, but just enough of one where I'm interested and still get a good grade and excel past my own expectations. Oh, and I got my exhaust one too. I still need to make a clip of it though for you all to hear. Sounds amazing! August 20 Troublesome ExhaustI got my car back yesterday. It sounded awesome with just the Flowmaster 50's on there. But after the day led on, I wanted just a little more sound on it. So, I traveled over to my friend Porter's house. We tried for a couple hours to get some things off, and we did, but we couldn't get the third catalytic converter off. On my car, 1997 Ford Taurus SHO, there are 2 catalytic converts coming off each of the headers for both sides of the engine, then another one right as the Y-pipe joins together. This really muffles the sound, so I wanted to remove it and replace the catalytic converter with a straight-pipe cutout.
So, how do I get it off now? Well, I talked with the mechanic who put my exhaust on over at Lenexa Automotive, and they suggested heating it up and then beating on both sides of the converter with a hammer till it came off. I'm going to try again today to get it off, and we'll see how it works.
I will have a video of the sound when it's all done, and a couple pictures too.
